Furthering the standard includes making proposals and building actual
implementations -- and those can take at least as much time as
committee administrative activities.

Roland's point was simply that it would have been courteous to notify
those who proposed original forms of this extension -- who are all
listening already on *this* mailing list.  Why not make it routine to
post new/updated "issues" here before they hit your meeting agenda?
