I read it the same way you do, but with the same reservation about the          
extreme vagueness of the mentions of subroutines.  (In some other cases         
intended to be as loosely specified, there is more explicit wording saying      
that DWARF isn't trying to tie all of this down.)                               
                                                                                
Does anybody on the list represent an extant producer that actually emits
